RMTs are required to conduct an assessment to identify any contraindications to receiving a massage prior to initiating treatment.
WHAT DURATION DO I NEED?
Generally, a 30 minute session is recommended to address very targeted areas that bothers you the most such as the entire back, neck and shoulders, or the low back and legs.
If you prefer a full body massage, then 45 minutes will cover the entire body but little time is spent in each region of your body.
A 60 minute massage will better manage areas that are the most bothersome, plus distribute the time well between the rest of the body.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A MASSAGE THERAPY SESSION?
*Before a treatment session, you can decide if you would like to disrobe or stay clothed and communicate it to the therapist. If you do not wish to disrobe, massage gel will not be used and instead techniques will be applied over you clothes. If you are comfortable disrobing, only areas being worked on at the time will be exposed.
*The therapist will also ask if you would like certain sensitive areas to be worked on such as the buttock muscles, etc., and you can communicate this to the therapist depending on your comfort level.
